The end of a job, a wedding, and an imminent move – it’s safe to say that I’ve had quite a lot happening in the past few weeks and there aren’t any signs of it slowing down. It’s likely that I will have relocated from Norfolk to Scotland by the end of the year (if you don’t follow me on Instagram you may not know this, but we are moving North for my husband’s job). I’m one of those people who really embrace change, and I’m really excited to begin this new chapter in our lives. And that is what this is, a brand new chapter as husband and wife, out in the world by ourselves making a completely new life just for the two of us. Preparation for this new life for me is not only practical things such as bills, finding a new job and anything else a big move entails but sorting out my possessions too, and thinking to myself ‘what do I want the new Hollie to own’? I don’t know the reason why but I really feel like shaking life up and using this as a chance to be the person I really want to be – a new and improved version of Just Hollie if you like. I’ve always known how I want my life to look but now I really have had a kick up the bum to not settle for less.
I had absolutely no idea what a wax melt was until the start of this year, but then I started following Mrs Hinch on Instagram; Like many others, I instantly went out and bought a burner, I was hooked. I bought a couple of Yankee Candle melts to begin with and I also purchased some of the infamous Ava May Aromas melts, both lovely but I really am trying to buy local where possible, and knew there were a few small companies in the area making gorgeous wax melts. Like some sort of internet magic, one night whilst scrolling through the ‘gram, I came across Bee Natural Wax Melts. Bee Natural instantly drew me in, they made a product I wanted, were local (Lowestoft) and their branding is absolutely a bit of me!
Monday night I was lucky enough to bag an invite to the press launch of The Ivy Brasserie in Norwich – a new restaurant opening on Tuesday 21st August in the city centre.
I have been getting excited about this swanky new restaurant opening for a couple of months now – the social media team have been very clever in teasing us with just enough on Instagram to already make me love the place.
The Ivy have restaurants all over England, mainly in the London area, so it was very exciting to hear that Norwich is joining the lucky cities to boast that we have one. The interior is nothing short of luxe – it is breathtaking when you walk in; the chandeliers are enormous, the floor is glaringly shiny and the atmosphere makes you want to sit up that little bit straighter, but in a good way. So I thought that after this recent post, I would carry on the theme of homes and houses by doing a beaut of an interior wish list. Now this isn’t just a filler, fluffy look at these pretty things post – it is genuinely my wish list and not going to lie to you, I just want to collate it for my own reference as much as to share with you all. Since getting the house last year, we have slowly built up a theme in each room but without a money tree in the garden, getting the perfect ‘look at my blogger basic bitch house’ is going to take some time. But luckily, time I do have and prayinggggg this little lot will be under my roof soon! Continue reading
Berrys and Grey, Royal Arcade, Norwich. One of those places where you can feel inferior and inspired all at the same time, your head being filled with ideas about how you can jazz up your home and sad at the fact it will never look half as beautiful as this shop does!
I have seen this little gem all over Insta and Twitter for a good while now and I finally had the time to visit a couple of weeks ago and O.M.G. First of all it is a bloggers heaven, filled with white, rose gold, copper, texture, trends and anything else you would wish for the perfect blogger-worthy home. Even the setting in which this shop finds itself is amazing, if you’ve never been to the Royal Arcade in Norwich’s city centre you should take a little visit, it’s a beauty. Continue reading
So myself and my partner bought a house last August and woop woop we finnnnnally have all of the important furniture we need and I can add some personal touches and buy some pretties! I was under strict instructions from the BF not to buy ‘dust collectors’ as he calls them until we have all of the big things we needed. Sensible, yes. Fun, nooo. Continue reading
